My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sterling!

Sterling came to FMAR as a stray after one of our amazing volunteers noticed just how sweet and curious he was and knew he deserved a safe, loving home. Now that he’s fully vetted and ready to go, this energetic guy is eager to find a place of his own!

Sterling is full of confidence and loves to strut around like he owns the place. He’s playful, inquisitive, and always on the move. One thing that will definitely win his heart? A nice serving of wet food—he goes absolutely crazy for it!

Because of his time as a stray, Sterling isn’t a fan of other cats and would do best as the only feline in the home. He’s had his fair share of being bullied and is much happier being the star of the show.

Sterling also likes his affection on his terms. He can be a bit picky about where he’s touched, and tail touches are a big no-no! If he gets overstimulated, he may give a gentle nibble to let you know he’s had enough—nothing mean, just his way of setting boundaries.

If you’re looking for a confident, food-loving, entertaining companion who knows what he likes, Sterling might just be your perfect match!

FMAR felines are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated for age-appropriate shots, and negative for FIV/FeLV.

More about this shelter

We are a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter comprised mostly of volunteers. We take in cats and dogs from local shelters and the public who can no longer care for their pets. Each of the volunteers at FMAR has a tremendous amount of love for animals and simply wants to do what they can to ensure that as many animals as possible find a forever home. Until then, each animal has a home at FMAR indefinitely.
