My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beulah is a shy beauty who joined our rescue a few months ago. She was found with her sister, Butterscotch, as country strays in rural North Carolina.

Animal Control Officers corralled the girls and brought them to the overcrowded County Shelter, where they were about to be euthanized. Shelter workers worked frantically to get them transferred to our Rescue before their time was up.

Beulah seemed shy and often tried to hide behind Butterscotch. She seemed nervous on the trip north to Connecticut. Once here, she came out of her shell nicely, and has become extremely affectionate, and would make an outstanding family dog. Beulah loves people, but will need a bit of time to warm up. She could easily live happily with older kids, who have been taught to treat dogs gently.

Beuhla is a small dog at just 30 pounds. She is active, but does not have an over-the-top energy level. She requires a couple of leisurely, "smell the roses" daily walks, but then is content to rest or take a nap. She would do well in a family setting, or with a single, or retired folks. Beulah will be happy as long as she is loved.

Beulah loves other dogs and has become extremely social in our small dog playgroup. She easily could join a multi-dog home with other friendly dogs, and could co-exist with cats.

Beulah is a small Hound mix, perhaps Redbone Coonhound and a smidge of Beagle to explain the small stature. As a scent Hound, her instincts are a mixed bag of gun dog attributes. Her ideal adopter would be an active single or couple, who can include her on hikes, runs, or walks, camping, or any kind of outdoors activity that will challenge mind and body.

Beulah has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during her transition to a new home. She has been spayed, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings.

If you are interested in Beulah, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call or text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.

Additional adoption info

When we receive your completed application we will check your references, including your veterinarian, and then call you to discuss your situation and requirements.. If you are approved for adoption, we can then discuss with you which of the dogs might fit best into your life. We will either arrange for you to visit the dog in its foster home, by appointment, or transport the dog to your home.

To help cover the veterinary expenses of our foster Eskies and to support our rescue effort, Eskies Online will charge you an adoption fee of $350.00. We do not sell dogs. We charge a flat fee--whether the Eskie is a puppy or an older dog; whether it came to us with minimal veterinary needs or requiring major medical care; whether the Eskie makes a short or a long stay in our foster system.

More about this rescue

Eskies Online is a 501(c)(3) Multibreed rescue group that serves unwanted American Eskimos and other dogs in need and finds qualified, permanent, adoptive homes for them. In the foster home environment, we are able to evaluate the dog's temperament and behavior patterns away from the stress of shelter life. Eskies Online is funded entirely through adoption fees, donations and the generosity our volunteers.
