My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hippo was found scared on the side of the road with no chip, tags, or family to claim him at the shelter. Initially he was unable to walk without falling due to excessive prior confinement, had a skin condition, was not house trained, and had a host of other issues. The vet said he was very likely abused. Despite these challenges he was immediately loving and sweet. We have worked long and hard to get him to an adoptable place. He still takes his time getting to know new people and dogs and can be reactive. Despite this, he has no prey drive and has been known to try to makes friends with both rabbits and spiders. His favorite things are to sit outside and watch the world, play chase with other dogs, or simply lay quietly with a loved one. His ideal home would include a large space for him to explore with plenty of predictability and affection in his day.
