Toeburta is, in her foster’s words, “probably one of the nicest kittens we’ve ever fostered.” And honestly, we believe it. She is sweet, social, gentle, and affectionate to the max. She loves dogs. She loves cats. She loves kids. She loves sunshine. She loves toys. She loves treats. She loves you already and hasn’t even met you yet.
Her favorite activities include:
• Sleeping in bed with her humans every night

In 1987, an initial attempt was made to organize a local humane society in Caroline County. While this attempt did not succeed, those same dedicated volunteers were not deterred.
From our humble beginnings 30 years ago, to where we are today, we are proud to be called “the little shelter that could”.
We provide service to our community through pet adoption, Rabies Clinics, Trap-Neuter-Return, Pet Pantry, Pet Lost & Found, Re-homing, Intake Diversion, Cremation
