My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

“Wednesday is the most special girl. She’s the sweetest dog I’ve ever met and gives so much love. She loves to cuddle up on the couch, she’s curious about everything, and she’s gentle, calm, and friendly with everyone she meets.” Meet this gorgeous, friendly Spaniel mix - Wednesday! 6 months old and 25lbs, she’s full of puppy energy, love, and curiosity.  Wednesday is playful, curious, and full of energy, but she also has the softest, sweetest side. She adores going on walks, playing with kids, and exploring the world with her tail wagging a mile a minute. She’s super friendly with people on the street, great with children, and wants to play with every dog, cat, or squirrel she spots. She may bark during initial greetings, but if the other dog walks away, she’ll whimper for them to come back, she’s truly eager to make friends! She’s recently been around cats and was mostly curious and playful. Indoors, she’s gentle, quiet, and happy to snuggle up for couch time. She’s crate-trained, settles quickly, and naps peacefully when left alone. Wednesday is still learning her commands and working on potty training, but she tries hard and loves being outdoors. She’s good on leash, curious around noises and movement, and not easily startled. With her soft temperament, playful spirit, and love for kids, Wednesday would thrive in a family home where she can be active, adored, and included in the fun. She’s truly a special girl with so much love to give.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

The first step of the adoption process is to complete an adoption application in full at www.rescuecity.nyc. All of our dogs are in foster homes throughout the city. We do not have a physical location where we keep dogs.

More about this rescue

Rescue City is a no-kill, non-profit1 pet rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption organization. Our team of dedicated volunteers is based in Brooklyn, NY and serves the NYC metro and surrounding areas.

Our organization’s motto is: There’s a person for every dog, and there’s a dog for every person…it’s just a matter of time. This applies whether you are looking to adopt a pet, or would like to make a positive impact on the lives of animals. At Rescue City we believe it is our moral responsibility to defend the lives of abused, abandoned, and neglected animals.
We take on helpless stray and surrendered animals, as well as those at the top of the euthanasia list at local and international shelters. We place our rescues in nurturing foster homes while they rebuild their lives through physical and mental rehabilitation. Following a thorough – but hassle free – adoption process, our Rescues are placed in loving, responsible, and committed permanent homes. Every rescue is fully vetted and altered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated upon adoption. Our commitment to our rescues does not stop once the adoption paperwork is signed. We stress the importance of responsible pet ownership, and we educate our Fosters, Adopters, and community on what it means to be a good pet owner.
