My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Frida, she is a sweetheart looking for her forever home! She was brought in as a stray to her previous shelter, so not much is known about what she`s like in a home. Don`t let that deter you! Staff says Frida is a very sweet, loving, and calm girl. She loves to relax and roll over for belly rubs. Frida has had the chance to meet dogs while at HSC, and she seems to prefer coexisting with calmer dogs. She is working on her leash skills, but she is treat motivated which is very helpful for further training.

Did you know?! Frida is a “Have a Heart” fund recipient. She has heartworms that will need to be treated in the home, but through this fund, the Humane Society of Charlotte has a voucher to help assist with treatment costs. Treatment at partnering veterinary clinics is offered at a reduced rate for adopters, and these clinics will provide excellent care and support throughout the process. She will need an adopter who is committed to working closely with a veterinarian to help her become heartworm-free.

Frida is currently relaxing in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, reach out to her foster parent at cotyametz@gmail.com to set up a meet and greet!

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Charlotte believes in working to improve our community by creating new, loving families, and building a world where there are no more homeless and unwanted animals. This is an ongoing process — for every animal we can connect with a new family, another animal in need comes to HSC’s shelter. As a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the HSC relies on the generous support of animal lovers, grants, bequests, and fees for service.

HSC is not affiliated with any other animal welfare organizations and we do not receive government funding.
