Potty trained: Figuring it out!

** PHYSICALLY FENCED YARD AND A COMPANION DOG REQUIRED**
Valiente means “brave one,” and this little man lives up to his name every day. At his core, Valiente is sweet, lovable, playful, and full of fun.
Like many dogs coming from a puppy mill background, he has an extra layer of caution and initial distrust layered over that happy base personality. This is already melting away with consistency and kindness, and he will continue to thrive with a patient, understanding adopter who lets him move at his own pace.
Valiente is learning new skills every day. He has mastered stairs, learned that door thresholds are nothing to fear, and discovered the joy of toys, chew bones, and romping with other dogs. He also enjoys cozy couch snuggles. He loves treats, eats comfortably in front of people, and takes treats directly from a hand.
He is still working on potty training and currently wears a belly band during the day to help manage accidents. Now that it got back up into the double digits, he's doing really well with going potty outside. He is not yet leash trained and will need support with that, but he rides very well in the car. At night, he sleeps quietly in an x-pen next to the bed and does great through the night.
Valiente recently had a dental, so that is already taken care of for his future family.
