My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Blue, a fun-loving fetch enthusiast looking for a forever home! He is a 1-year-old, 50-pound Bully breed mix with a big, handsome smile. Blue was found roaming near a golf course in July (by the blue tee box markers, of course), and he was brought to the veterinary clinic where his foster mom works when his family couldn’t be found. Blue was the sweetest, most affectionate boy when he arrived underweight, anxious, and with painful skin infections, and his foster mom knew instantly she had to help him recover and find his perfect home. Unfortunately, Blue’s foster mom was informed years ago by her grumpy, immunocompromised Chihuahua, Evelyn, that she’s not allowed to have other pets. Blue has been a very brave pup while getting help with separation anxiety and confinement anxiety in his foster home. Blue is vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, Leptospirosis, and Bordetella. He is heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped, and has a pet insurance policy that can be transferred to his new humans. Blue loves being active together! He enjoys playing fetch, competing in a game of tug, chasing his flirt pole, and destroying cardboard boxes. Blue is a wonderful “big spoon” and loves to cuddle and nap together after a good workout. He is a chewing fanatic, and his favorite long-lasting treats are yak cheese chews and Kong toys filled with frozen snacks. Blue has had closely monitored interactions with children while on leash, but we haven’t had a chance to see how he does with children in the home. Blue is very enthusiastic when meeting cats and other dogs, and he can be a big personality for more reserved pets. Blue would likely do best with another young, active dog in the household or as an only fur child. He is enrolled in a reward-based training class that he will finish in January and is working on his house manners, leash walking, and social skills. An ideal home for Blue would be one with predictable routines, shorter periods of time left home alone, daily exercise and training sessions, and access to a fenced yard for exercise off leash. Blue is house trained and leash trained, and he knows basic commands. He is currently working on stay, crawling, spins, and recall! Blue is a very smart boy and is eager to learn. He is very food motivated, and his favorite training treat of all time is string cheese! Interested in meeting this energetic, silly, affectionate boy?
