Meet Asher! His previous owners describe him as friendly, playful, and very affectionate. While Asher can be a little shy when meeting new people, he warms up quickly and soon shows his loving side—especially if head pets are involved! Once he’s comfortable, he absolutely loves being cuddled and soaking up attention from his people. Asher is a chatty companion who enjoys “talking back” when you speak to him, making him a fun and interactive friend. He also has a playful streak and enjoys batting around his toys, but he’s just as happy to spend most of his time snoozing nearby as the sleepy boy he is. He has not lived with other cats before, but he previously lived with a small dog and enjoyed playing together. Asher is also a big fan of treats, which is a great way to win his heart even faster. If you’re looking for a loving, cuddly, and conversational companion who will happily nap by your side, Asher may be the perfect match for you.

Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter.
(Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.)
#2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD**
If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours.
**Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events.

All cat adoption fees include;
-spay/neuter
-rabies vaccine
-current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-FeLV/FIV blood test
-microchip implanted & registered to the adopter
-treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
