Here's what the humans have to say about me:
🐾 Meet Mr. Pablo!
Mr. Pablo is a confident, happy boy with a big smile and an even bigger personality. From the moment you meet him, it’s clear he enjoys being part of the action and soaking up attention. His expressive face and perky ears give him a look that’s impossible to forget.
Pablo is friendly, outgoing, and loves interacting with people. He carries himself with a playful confidence and enjoys staying engaged, whether that’s through walks, playtime, or just being right by your side. He’s the kind of dog who brings energy into a room without being overwhelming.
Mr. Pablo would do great in a home that enjoys an active, social companion and appreciates a dog who’s both fun and affectionate. He has a joyful spirit and a loving nature that make him a wonderful addition to the right family.
If you’re looking for a dog with charm, confidence, and a whole lot of heart, Mr. Pablo might just be your guy.

More about this shelter
We are the Jefferson County Humane Society and , except for our humane officers (who are paid very nominally), we are all volunteers! Our members were instrumental in getting a local levy passed to build a new and larger shelter and the doors opened in 2011. We are currently participating in Iams Home for the Holidays Program and the Purina Pets for People grant program. We are actively pursuing other grants and recently have been asked by the county to partner with them in the operation of the new shelter. Since we are a humane society, our main focus is on getting animals spayed and neutered so there are no more homeless pets. To that end, we bring in a mobile animal surgical clinic who performs spays and neuters at a reduced rate. We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our efforts and, of course, for financial contributions (we are a non-profit, 501 (c)3) and pet adopters! Other items such as food, treats, pet carriers, cages, leashes, collars, food bowls, etc. are also ALWAYS welcomed and appreciated. Please contact us if you have an item to be donated or would like to volunteer with us to try to save some of these homeless, but very loveable, dogs!
