My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

💗 Meet Lucy — Ready for Her Next Chapter 💗

Lucy is a 1-year-old Mountain Cur mix who finds herself back with us through no fault of her own. Her adopter is moving out of the country and, with heavy hearts, had to make the difficult decision to return her so she can find a new loving home.

Lucy has grown so much since she was first adopted. She’s smart, eager to learn, and already knows an impressive list of commands including sit, down, paw, hi-five, stay, leave it, and place — and she’s continuing to learn more. Her vaccinations are up to date, and she’s become noticeably calmer and more confident.

This girl thrives with structure and appropriate exercise. She’s not a couch potato — Lucy enjoys a good long walk (about an hour a day), along with playtime and training to keep her body and mind happy. She does well in her crate when her people are out and sleeps peacefully in a bed at night, happiest when she’s close to her humans.

Lucy is a good dog with a big heart who’s already proven how much she can blossom in the right home. She’s looking for someone who will continue giving her the guidance, activity, and love she deserves — and who will make her next home her forever one.

If you can open your heart and home to Lucy, please call 865-273-3751 or visit the Maryville/Alcoa Animal Rescue Center.
