Buddy was found recently as a stray on Kuykendahl and Ella in the Valero parking lot. A police officer confirmed the dog was not his and had been roaming the area. He had a collar but no tag. I decided to take him to Petco to scan for a chip, but none was found. Later that night I took him to Urgent Vet in Conroe for a general check-up on his vitals and gum health and they had no concerns. He is neutered and vaccinated. Veterinary records will be provided.
Buddy is now safe and being cared for in a home environment. He is a very energetic, affectionate, and social dog who loves to play and stay active. He enjoys supervised play with other dogs and demonstrates normal, appropriate play behaviors. Buddy is people-oriented, listens well to adults, and is eager to engage with those around him; however, he has not spent time with children or smaller dogs while in my care.
He has adjusted quickly to a home setting and is learning routines and boundaries. After a brief adjustment period, he has done well with house training when taken out regularly. He respects boundaries in the home and does not jump onto furniture or beds. If he is allowed up, he is able to settle in calmly.
Buddy would do best in a home that can provide regular activity, structure, and engagement. He would thrive with an adopter who enjoys an active, affectionate companion and is excited to continue helping him grow into an excellent family dog.
