Mimi If you’ve read my brother Pablo Luis’s story, you already know much of my journey. I came to HSHC because our owner developed allergies. I’m 7 years old, spayed, litterbox trained, and a little on the chubby side at 14 pounds. My gorgeous green eyes really stand out in my photos. My brother and I have always lived together, and while we’re not bonded, we’d be happy to be adopted as a pair! Out of the two of us, I’m more likely to make a dash for the door, but my owners could always scoop me up and bring me back inside. Unlike my brother, I actually like being held, either like a baby or a football. I love playing in water, especially splashing around with my paw. I’m definitely the more active, playful sibling—string and wand toys are my favorites! I’ve met dogs when our owner dogsits, but I prefer to avoid them and just make myself scarce. Also, kids make me a bit nervous, so I steer clear of them. I have a great appetite, especially for crunchy Temptation Treats and wet food. We moved to the Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe (SKCC) on December 31, so I’m still adjusting. When the interviewer came by, she woke me from my nap, and I gave her my most glamorous pose for the story. I thoroughly enjoyed the pets and chin scratches she gave me. If you think I might be the right fit for your home—maybe even with my brother—please come visit me at the Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe! 1-3-26

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.
This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
