Phoebe is an 8 yo Italian greyhound who proves daily that a loving heart and determined spirit can outshine any challenge. This very special little girl sustained a spinal injury after being attacked by another dog several years ago, which left her with limited feeling in her hind legs but don’t let that fool you! Phoebe does not believe in slowing down.
In her foster home , Phoebe gets around beautifully on smooth surfaces like tile, skillfully using her front legs and gliding along to get where she needs to go. For adventures outdoors or rooms with carpet she happily used her wheelchair, which allows her to explore and enjoy life even more.
What Phoebe loves most, though , isn’t movement—- it’s snuggling. She would be perfectly content cuddled under a blanket on your lap, beside you on a couch, or tucked in next to you in bed. Because of her special needs , Pheobe does need a watchful human to make sure she stays safely in place and doesn’t attempt any surprise leaps when curiosity strikes. Pheobe is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and deeply loving. She forms strong bonds with her people and thrives on gentle companionship and reassurance. Her ideal home is one with serious, thoughtful adopters who understand her needs and are committed to keeping her safe while giving her all the love she deserves.

If you are interested in adopting from Indiana Ig Rescue you must fill out an application and return it to Indianaigrescue@comcast.net or topironhorse2000@hotmail.com. Ap Then we check your references and schedule a home visit. Once all this is completed then you go through a process of finding the right foster for your family. We currently utilize a waitlist of approved adoption homes as IG's come into rescue.
Our fees range by age:
Under 6 months: $350
6 months - 2 years: $325
2 years – 7 years: $300
7 years – 10 years: $275
Over 10 years: decided on by each dog

IGCA Rescue of Indiana is a non profit 501 3c. We depend on a group of dedicated volunteers to transport, foster, and raise awareness for dogs in need. The national organization supports our efforts through a central fund, to ensure all dogs receive needed veterinary care, including spay/neuter prior to adoption.
