If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Ruby is a quiet, well-behaved ,4 yr old sweetie.39 lbs. She spends her days curled in the footwell of my desk, or in her dog bed by our front window watching the street. Loves ear scratches and watching TV with me.
She is an amazing dog - hardly every barks (maybe once a month she barks once when she sees a squirrel or is playing with another dog). House trained. Never tried to steal food from the table. Does not chew furniture. Has never been aggressive toward a person or other dog, but did kill a rabbit once. I'd be wary of her around cats until you know they're OK.
I have had her for almost a year (from SPCA), but am divorcing and can't take her with me when I move. She would be happiest IN A HOUSEHOLD WITH ANOTHER DOG. She thrives in other dogs company! She is playful with other dogs, and loves to run around on her one trip to the off-leash park each day.
She will need a patient owner who will take time to bond with her. She also prefers women, but is OK around men.
