Dino: Long-Haired Syrian Hamster – Male, ~8 Months
This handsome long-haired Syrian boy is an active, curious little guy who loves his wheel and staying busy exploring his space. He happily takes treats from your hand and allows gentle handling, making him a fun hamster to interact with and watch.
He does best with short handling sessions, as longer interactions can be stressful for him. With patience, consistency, and regular positive interactions, he has great potential to continue building confidence.
Medical Note: He is a cryptorchid male, which means both of his testicles did not drop and are still in his abdomen. We have discussed this with our veterinarian, and neutering is not recommended due to anesthesia risks in hamsters and their naturally short life expectancy. While retained testicles carry a theoretical risk of neoplasia, this risk is considered low to develop given their short life span. No treatment is recommended at this time—routine monitoring only.
Ideal Home: A patient adopter willing to work with him regularly, respect his boundaries, and continue building trust.
If you’re looking for a hamster you can bond with and help grow in confidence, this sweet boy could be a wonderful match!
