Age: 5 years
Breed: Basset Hound
Status: Spayed, Vaccinated, House-Trained, Dog and Kid friendly
Bailey is a sweet, social, and delightfully quirky 5-year-old Basset Hound looking for a home where she can continue to be adored. She has been loved dearly her whole life, but due to her devoted owners’ changing medical needs, she needs a family who can give her the exercise she requires.
*What Bailey Needs
Bailey was raised by a retired couple and isn’t used to being left alone for long stretches. Her ideal home is with someone who is retired or works from home and has plenty of time to spend with her. Who will continue to treat her like a pampered princess. She doesn’t need a crate and has excellent house manners.
*A Hound’s Nose Knows!
True to her hound heritage, Bailey loves to sniff and explore the world at her own pace. She’ll thrive with a yard for her normal sniffs and needs an owner who will take her on daily scent-filled walks. Be ready…when Bailey catches a scent, she’s determined! She can pull strong on leash, so she’ll need a confident, steady handler.
*Personality Plus
Bailey has that classic basset personality: a sweet, loving nature paired with a bit of willful charm. She’s social, playful, and adores her squeaky toys. She’s a couch-lounger with a spunky streak, perfect for someone who appreciates a dog with character.
*Other Pets & Kids
Bailey enjoyed doggie daycare in her younger years, until one little white dog bit her tail, and she has not forgotten it! Little white dogs are officially on her “nope” list but all others are her friends.
Bailey is loves children but does not realize her size, so a home with older kids or adults is best.
*Bailey Is Ready for Her Next Chapter
If you’re looking for a loyal, funny, affectionate companion who will fill your days with wiggles, sniffing adventures, and plenty of lovable basset hound charm, Bailey may be your perfect match.
Fill out an application at www.soardogs.org to meet Bailey and let her steal your heart!
Adoption donation required. This covers altering, DAP series vaccinations to date of adoption, Bordetella Vaccination, Rabies vaccination if over four months, Microchip, Deworming, heartworm test (if over 8 months), monthly flea/heartworm prevention to date, grooming, full veterinary examination, and temperament evaluation.
All SOAR dogs go through a ten-day quarantine period to ensure they are healthy, before being adopted. We do not operate on a first come first serve basis, but screen applicants in order to find the best fit for our adoptable dogs.
