Foster cat`s bio for their adoption profile: Long Island is a gorgeous and sweet gentle boy with a special trait. He has CH (Cerebellar Hypolasia - wobbly kitten syndrome) which means that his brain stem in underdeveloped and causes his movements to be uncoordinated. It is not progressive and CH cats typically live normal life spans, although they are more prone to accidents. His case is quite mild and he can eat, drink, and use the litter box with no problems. He`s a bit on the lazy side for a kitten but still likes to play and snuggle with his siblings. He is a sweet and gentle boy who likes to cuddle up to humans.
Long Island is a bit clumsy and easily falls over when he becomes startled. He will likely need large sets of stairs and banisters blocked off to prevent injury. He can climb onto furniture if he can get a good grip on it, but pet stairs may help him to get up and down easier with less injury risk. He should be in a home where all family members treat him gently (example: young children shouldn`t pick him up in case of dropping him). Something to monitor would be because of the tension required to steady his body he may need therapies later similar to arthritic cats - Solensia injections, acupuncture, etc.

More about this rescue
Since 1996 SCAT Street Cat Rescue's prime focus has been feral cats because of the limited options available for them. TNR is a successful option instead of the traditional trap and kill. The majority of the cats rescued by SCAT, however, are socialized and available for adoption. As the city grows, so to does the need for our services. Adopt, Donate, Volunteer, TODAY!
