My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hershey (yes, that Hershey)

Does this handsome face look familiar? It should. Hershey was a Hootie’s Haven alum from several years ago and has made his grand return thanks to his family moving overseas. Plot twist: Hershey did not come with a passport.

Hershey is a 5-year-old Cocker Spaniel and basically a professional good boy. His resume includes:

Potty trained (no accidents, no excuses)

Crate trained (luxury suite approved)

Gets along with dogs and cats (diplomatic king)

What he’s really searching for is a lap with good heating, some snacks, and a forever human who understands that personal space is optional.

If you or someone you know needs a sweet, cuddly, chocolatey-colored sidekick, let us know!

Warning: adopting Hershey may result in excessive cuddles and unconditional love.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

An Adoption Application is completed which includes current pets and veterinarians. Veterinarians are contacted to verify that current pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and heart prevention. A visit to the property to confirm fencing is made or a search on Google Earth is conducted to confirm the fencing. Any current pets in the home are introduced to the potentially adopted pet to insure they all are behaviorally compatible.

Go meet their pets

We hold adoption events at our closest Petsmart location, as well as meet and greets by appointment. We also participate in festivals, parades, and other public events to bring awareness to the public about our available pets, and the importance of spaying and neutering.

More about this rescue

We are a licensed 501c3 animal rescue in NW Georgia. We serve our communities by accepting owner surrenders from owners who for whatever reason, are no longer able to care for their pets. We also assist our communities by taking in dogs from animal control facilities who might otherwise be euthanized. All pets coming into our rescue are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested. If needed we also provide heartworm treatment and recovery time.
