Roscoe’s story began on the streets, found as a stray and estimated to be around two years old. Though a little underweight when rescued, he’s now fully vetted — vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped — and settling into foster life with curiosity and charm. This high-energy boy is alert, playful, and always ready for adventure, whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, through a bustling public space or a ride in the car.
In his foster home, Roscoe is thriving alongside other dogs and enjoys the company of respectful children. He’s still learning the ropes of house training — he wears a belly band indoors and gets frequent potty breaks. He hasn’t quite mastered letting himself out through the dog door yet, but he’s figured out how to use it and is making progress. Roscoe is also crate training and learning that his crate can be a cozy, safe space when he’s feeling anxious.
Separation anxiety is part of Roscoe’s journey, especially at night when his foster mom isn’t nearby, but he’s working hard to build confidence. Loud noises and airplanes overhead can startle him, yet his food motivation makes training easier, and he’s beginning to respond to basic obedience cues. He’s a fast eater, so a slow feeder is a must, and he’s learning to eat from a dog bowl like a pro.
Roscoe’s playful spirit shines through in his interactions with his foster sibling pugs, and his affectionate nature makes him a tight snuggler who loves being close. He’s nimble and clever — known to hop onto counter stools and sneak a peek at the kitchen counters — so he’s working on his manners and boundaries. While we don’t yet know how he does with cats, his adaptability and eagerness to learn suggest he’ll continue to blossom with the right guidance.
Roscoe is looking for a home that can match his energy, offer patient training, and provide the love and structure he craves. In return, you’ll gain a loyal, lively companion who’s always ready to play, cuddle, and grow alongside you.
