My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Noel, our happy 15-week-old Lab mix pup (as of Dec 29th). She is cuddly, playful, sweet, smart, super friendly and full of love to give. She loves to play with other dogs, big and small, but would also do well as an only dog. She is used to playing with our kids who love carrying her around and cuddling with her. At 28lb, she is one of the bigger pups of the litter. She sees herself as the protector of the group and is also the one with the strongest survival instinct, finding the best hiding places in the yard. It’s hard to believe that the strong, happy and thriving pup we have now is the same scared pup we found along with 2 of her litter mates abandoned in a box in a culvert at 4 weeks of age. She weighed only 3lbs, had not been weaned, had fleas, mange and worms, and couldn’t stop shivering. She is now a healthy pup who can’t wait to meet her forever family. We are currently taking applications, if you think she might be the missing piece of your family, the first step is to fill out an application at the link below. It is not a commitment to adopt her, just a means of introduction. Once we receive your application, her foster parents will reach out to discuss the process and plan a meet and greet.

Additional adoption info

We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis - it is our goal to find the right home for the cat or dog as well ensuring that the cat or dog is the right match for it's new family. A win/win situation.
For dogs, we require an application, home visit for approved application, and home trial period to ensure that it's a good fit for the dog and the family.
For cats, we require an application, but do allow same-day adoptions. Our goal is to find our fosters a "forever" home.
Our Adoption Fees are $140 for cats and $175 for dogs.

All our cats and dogs are fully vetted prior to adoption - this includes all age-appropriate vaccinations, feline leukemia/aids testing, heartworm tests, deworming, spay or neuter, microchips and other medical treatment as required.

You can fill out an Adoption Application online on our website.

Go meet their pets

All our cats and dogs live in foster homes so we don't have a physical shelter for you to visit.
A selection of FFAR cats will be showcased EVERY DAY at:

AND
McKinney PetSmart #1751 N. Central Expressway.

Adoption Counselors will be in attendance at both PetSmarts on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday from 11 am - 4 pm. and Sunday from 12 noon - 4 p.m.

A selection of the FFAR dogs will be at the Craig Ranch McKinney PetSmart (Custer/Hwy121) on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays of the month. Not all dogs will attend and times will vary. Please check our Facebook Page for updates on the day of the Meet & Greet.
Adoption Counselors will be in attendance during that time.

If you are interested in meeting any of our cats or dogs, just send us an email or fill out an Adoption Application on our website. The Adoption Application is not a commitment just a means of introduction. We look forward to hearing from you!

More about this rescue

Furry Friends Animal Rescue

We are a new group started in 2013 by a large group of experienced rescuers - we wanted to be part of an ethical rescue group which would allow us to help homeless cats and dogs in the North Texas area. We value all the experience and knowledge brought to this group by the volunteers so the group is member based. We welcome new volunteers and fosters, both experienced or new to rescue. You can contact us by email or through our website - we will get back to you as soon as possible.
