Meet Teddy!
Look at that face. This adorable little fella will steal your heart. He’s an absolute sweetheart and total cuddle bug. At 4 months old and a whopping 35 lbs you can bet he’s going to be a big boy. We are waiting for his DNA test to come back to see what’s behind those big paws of his but we’re assuming he’s a pit mix of some sort.
Teddy shares his foster home with another pittie and also a cat. He’s a playful, rambunctious puppy but he takes correction well from both the resident dog and from his foster mom (when she tells him to be gentle with the kitty). As with most puppies he plays for a brief spell and then totally crashes. He prefers his naps to be along side you on the couch (or wherever it is that you are).
He appears to be a smart little guy. He’s already learned “sit” and “touch.” He’s doing great with his crate training too! He eats his meals in the crate - happily running inside when it’s time. And sleeps overnight in the crate with no fuss (the crate is in the bedroom with foster mom and resident dog - he was barky when he was separated in another room). He does get barky in the crate if you leave home, so apartment living is probably not for him.
Potty training is coming along. He’s usually quick to pee when you take him outside. But, his bladder is tiny and he does need to go out very regularly or he’ll have an accident inside. Nothing out of the ordinary for a puppy his age.
Teddy would benefit from another dog in the home, because he enjoys the company of a playful companion. Bully breed or large dog experience preferred. Teddy is being fostered in Collingswood, NJ.
Ted is UTD in age appropriate vaccines, chipped and on preventatives. In addition to his adoption fee, adopters are required to pay a $250 neuter deposit and sign a contract agreeing to neuter him at 6 months old. The deposit will be refunded once proof of neuter has been submitted. Failure to stick to the terms of the neuter contract will immediately result in us taking Teddy back into our care and will void his adoption. No exceptions regardless of reason or excuse.
If Teddy sounds like he’d be a good fit for your family, please apply ONLY on our website, zoeshouserescue.com today!

Who We Are:
Zoe's House, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare group based out of Sinking Spring,PA. We are comprised solely of volunteers that generously volunteer their time, their homes and their hearts. We are dedicated to rescuing homeless, neglected or abandoned animals from high kill shelters or from owners who can no longer care for them. We provide the animals with loving foster care, veterinary treatment and rehabilitation until we are able to pair them with compatible and loving forever homes. At times we also offer permanent sanctuary to those with special or medical needs and that are considered unadoptable.
Zoe's House serves as a resource to our community and to our adopters by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, the importance of spay/neuter, behavior training, nutrition, puppy mill awareness, heartworm preventative and breed education. Our organization also networks with other shelters and rescues. We try to assist other organizations when possible.
Zoe’s House is not federally funded, and relies solely on donations to continue to rescue. Although we are not breed specific, the need to save Dobermans, Rottweilers, German Shepherds and Pitbulls is ever growing; therefore, we have focused primarily on saving the lives of our beloved and majestic strong breeds.
What We do:
There are many people involved in the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of each dog we take in. Our rescue effort starts with the initial intake request for a dog. Whether this be at a shelter of from an individual in the community, we try to gather as much information as we can. We then pickup or transport the dog to safety in rescue. At this time we administer immediate veterinary care to determine the health of the dog and ensure the animal has proper immunizations. We also have bloodwork done for a heartworm check, lyme, fecal and sometimes a blood panel depending on the age and health of the dog. The dog remains in "in-home" foster care and becomes a part of the fosters family for an undefined period of time. We evaluate the dog and work on basic manners and obedience. At times we have dogs for a longer duration due to health and/or age. The dogs in our care come with us to adoption events, home screenings, and ultimately permanent placement. Zoe's House then provides post-adoption follow-up and support and welcomes the new family to the "Zoe's House Family!" We strive to stay in close contact with all of our adopters to ensure the transition and life long relationship continues to be magical. We remain dedicated to the principal that we never want one of our rescues to end up in a shelter or in a home that does not provide a responsible and loving environment for the life of the animal.
We truly believe that one dog at a time... we are making a difference!
