Long term resident Trey is needing his forever home. He thought he'd found it this past year, but due to a military life change in the home, Trey is back with us.
Trey is unique in that he has only three legs. Don't think for one minute that puts any restrictions on him. He is able to do whatever he chooses. Trey came to the shelter as an injured baby over five years ago and had to have his leg amputated right away. He was in foster after surgery and stayed there awhile, but eventually had to come back to the shelter where he waited years. He gets along with all the cats in his free roaming room. He loves blankets, treats, people, boxes, and beds. He's sweet, social, and friendly. He follows you around, loves all the scratches and pets. He's neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Please help Trey finally find his forever home.

More about this rescue
Building compassionate communities in East Central Illinois and West Central Indiana is a vitally compelling mission of CARA. We are committed to ending the unnecessary killing of healthy adoptable cats and dogs by providing a safe haven dedicated to the humane treatment of, and compassion for rescued, abandoned and abused animals surrendered to us. Animals in our care, our guests, are never killed. Our guest’s length of stay with us is not determined by a predefined amount of time and are cared for all their natural life. CARA’s ability to take in more guests is determined by our adoptions. As pets are adopted and space opens up, we will take in more. We are dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of our guests by ensuring each one is examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and receives medical treatment before they are placed in stable, healthy, and loving homes. To further our mission to create compassionate communities in the counties we serve, we are devoted to reducing pet overpopulation, increasing public awareness related to animal issues, and promoting pet health by providing low-cost spay and neutering services for companion animals in our community. We also work with pet owners to sustain animals in their current home by providing dietary support and consultation to mitigate, where possible, the hardships pet owners face in keeping the animal in their home.
