My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tabitha – The Sweetest Little Bloom Waiting to Open
Female • 6 months young

Tabitha is the kind of kitten who reminds you that the best treasures in life are the ones you earn with patience and kindness. She may start off a little shy, watching the world with big curious eyes from a cozy corner, but give her a moment—and a gentle invitation—and she blossoms into the most delightful companion.

Once she feels safe, Tabitha’s whole personality unfurls like a tiny sunrise:

She loves playtime and will happily chase a wand toy with surprising enthusiasm

She melts into soft pets and leans in for affection

Her purrs come out like a quiet little motor once she decides you’re her person

Tabitha would thrive in a calm, loving home with respectful older kids who understand how to let a shy girl warm up at her own pace. She’s a sweetheart who just needs someone willing to meet her where she is—and celebrate every little victory as she opens her heart.

If you’re looking for a gentle, tender soul who will reward your patience with trust, cuddles, and the sweetest purrs, Tabitha is ready to meet you. She’s a tiny treasure waiting for her forever family.

Texas Rescue Riders adheres to the National No Kill Advocacy Guidelines, promoting conversation-based adoptions and education to ensure a good home. Adoptions made easy – we believe finding your new best friend should be a straightforward and rewarding experience without unnecessary hurdles.

She is spayed, up to date vaccinations, microchipped, and ready to bring joy to your life

She is fostered at End of the Leash in Hales Corners at 5430 S 108th St
Come on out anytime during normal business hours for some playtime and snuggles!
Adoption fee is $50

Your adoption fee helps finance our mission to rescue, transport, and find homes for additional dogs, puppies, and kittens. We aim to alleviate the severe pet overpopulation crisis in South Texas by bringing as many homeless animals as possible to the northern United States.

Additional adoption info

Texas Rescue Riders follows the National No Kill Advocacy Guidelines, which recommend conversation based adoptions and education to find a good home. Ensuring a good home doesn’t require excessive arbitrary rules. Adopters have many options when it comes to finding their new best friend, and making the decision to adopt rather than go to a more convenient pet store or breeder shouldn’t be a difficult process.

Our pets are available to meet at their foster homes or local public meeting spots. Adoption events are posted on our Facebook page.

More about this rescue

Texas Rescue Riders appreciates our community's support in bringing dogs and cats from rural Texas into loving homes in the Midwest. Our amazing rescuers in Texas save these animals off the streets, where there is a severe pet overpopulation problem due to cultural differences and year round temperate climate. Texas Rescue Riders is an all inclusive rescue- we rescue first hand, nurse back to health, provide veterinary care, transport and adopt them out on our own. Our journey may begin in Texas, but it lives on in the north with our amazing adopters, fosters, volunteers and collaborating businesses. We are bound by our love of these precious souls who have joined their forever homes - and by those homeless dogs and cats whom we have not yet met - but who are waiting for their chance at happily ever after.
