Meet Roy
Roy’s story is a heartbreaking one — but it’s also a story of resilience, healing, and hope.
Roy was surrendered to the PSPCA in horrific condition. After sitting in the shelter for six days, they reached out to us, and we immediately stepped in. Roy was severely emaciated, and his bladder had herniated into his scrotum. He was rushed into emergency surgery, where he underwent a bladder repair, gastropexy, and was neutered.
The first couple of weeks with us were understandably difficult for Roy. His past had not been kind. His previous owner failed to feed him properly, and he was constantly attacked by other dogs in the home. Roy was never socialized and was only allowed outside at 3 a.m. for bathroom breaks. He missed out on being a puppy — on safety, consistency, and love.
But Roy is proving every day just how incredible he is.
For the past month and a half, Roy has been attending Gypsy K9, where he has truly been thriving. He has learned how to interact with other dogs and has been enjoying playtime and structured socialization. While Roy is shy at first and needs time to build trust, once he feels safe, his true personality shines through — affectionate, silly, and a total goofball.
Roy is:
Neutered and Gastropexy
Crate trained
House trained
Obedience trained
Dog friendly with proper introductions
Roy is looking for a patient, understanding home that will continue to help him grow and show him the life he always deserved.

PA Kennel License #16187
Roy has come so far — now all he needs is a forever family to call his own.
