Little Miss PEGGY is, well, she's kind of a stinker. She's an adorable petite beagle with a nose for naughtiness. The good news is her naughty streak is absolutely fixable, she just needs a human who will work on her manners. She corrects easily with our volunteers, it appears she's just not accustomed to hearing the word NO. You absolutely cannot let a beagle run your household, they are ruled by their noses and are guaranteed to make bad decisions. Peggy is actually a delightful girl, she just needs structure and leadership. Peggy also needs a doggie playmate, when she gets bored she gets into trouble, so another playful dog is a must. Peggy is an itty bitty beagle girl. She's 1 year old and fully grown at just 23 pounds. She's housebroken and crate trained. Standard beagle rules apply, Peggy needs a home with a physically-fenced yard. If you'd like to meet Peggy, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Peggy at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate.
All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
