My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mabel!

Mabel is an adorable 8-month-old Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer mix with a heart as big as her sweet, soulful eyes. Weighing in at about 42 pounds, she’s still very much a puppy and has that perfect mix of playful energy and loving affection.

This girl is extremely affectionate and loves being close to her people. She does well with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship, but she is afraid of cats, so a cat-free home will be the best fit for her comfort and confidence.

As a young pup, Mabel will benefit from basic training and continued guidance to help her grow into the best version of herself. Mabel has gotten some leash training (see the video) and is making great strides. She does not pull on the leash, but needs some guidance in learning how to walk with her human. With consistency, patience, and love, she’s sure to thrive and become a wonderful lifelong companion.

Important dates:
Mabel will be arriving in New Jersey on January 11 and will be available for adoption at that time.

If you’re looking for a sweet, loving, and loyal young dog to add to your family—and you’re ready to help a puppy learn the ropes—Mabel may be the perfect match for you.

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
