Meet Jacob!
This sweet little pal is still on the hunt for his very own family.
Jacob is about 11 months old, weighs around 45 lbs, and is a shepherd mix. He originally came to us from animal control, and it’s sadly suspected he may have experienced abuse before his previous owners dumped him. Despite all of that, Jacob is truly an absolute sweetie.
He can be a bit timid around some larger men at first, but give him a few treats and he warms up so quickly! Once this little guy realizes you’re safe, he’s all about snuggles, playtime, and toys. Jacob loves to cuddle, adores his squeaky toys, walks nicely on leash, and is so, so smart. Seriously… this boy already has a perfect sit, knows how to lay down, and one of our staff even taught him to spin for his food bowl at mealtime!
Truly, this silly, one-of-a-kind pup gives his whole heart once he trusts you… and when he’s in, he’s all in.
Ideal Home:
~ Jacob does require an experienced owner, and we are happy to offer training sessions to help set him up for success. Jacob can be protective of his home, which means he isn’t a fan of strangers just walking in without proper introductions. His family and close friends? Totally okay!
He does great meeting people out in the neighborhood, in public, and at the shelter — he loves and adores everyone he meets and is clearly longing for connection.
He just needs help with proper greetings and an owner who understands that some pups, especially shepherd breeds, are naturally protective of their homes and families.
Jacob does wonderfully with other dogs who can handle his bouncy, rambunctious puppy energy and he even does well with cats! Truly, this little guy is a friend to all.
He’s looking for a soft start, time to decompress from the shelter, and patient adopters willing to continue building his trust and training.
If you’d like to meet this medium-sized sweetheart and possibly give him the home he’s been waiting for, please reach out!
We’d love for you to meet this very deserving pup.
