Winnie is a 21-pound French Bulldog sweetheart estimated to be around 5 years old, hw-, and she is not spayed. She does have a scar on her belly, that we assume is from a previous c section.
She is recently out of heat.
Winnie’s story is just as touching as her personality. She was found dumped in a ditch, trapped in a kennel. When she was first rescued, her little soul was clearly crushed. She was malnourished, shut down, and unsure — yet even then, she was still incredibly sweet. While we may never know what Winnie endured in her first years of life, what matters most is that she is now safe, loved, and finally learning what it means to be cared for.
Since being in a loving foster home, Winnie has truly come out of her shell. Now that she knows she will be fed, protected, and cherished, her personality has blossomed in the most beautiful way. She is affectionate, joyful, and full of love, and it’s been incredible to watch her transform into such a confident, happy little girl while never losing her gentle nature.
Winnie is exceptionally loving, people-focused, and cuddly. She adores attention, thrives on human connection, and would happily spend her days right by your side soaking up affection and belly rubs — one of her favorite things. She is gentle, super sweet, and does wonderfully with kids. While she enjoys playing with her toys and taking cozy naps independently, she truly prefers being close to her people and feeling included in everyday life.
She enjoys going on short walks, is great in the car, and is an easy, pleasant companion all around. Her calm yet playful, affectionate presence makes her such a joy to have in the home.
Her kennel training is great, her house training is great as long as she is let out within a reasonable amount of time. She usually has to potty within 10-20 mins after eating or drinking.
When it comes to other dogs, Winnie seems to prefers her people over other dogs. She does well with smaller, calmer dogs, especially with proper introductions. She prefers relaxed canine companions and does best around dogs who don’t expect high-energy play, as she seems much more interested in being near her person than engaging with other dogs. This may change over time once she becomes more comfortable with any dog family members.
Overall, Winnie is an incredibly sweet, resilient, and loving girl whose past has not dimmed her heart. Watching her blossom after such a rough start has been nothing short of amazing, and whoever is lucky enough to welcome Winnie into their home will be gaining a devoted companion with so much love to give. If you would like to have Winnie join your family please fill out an adoption application. Her adoption fee covers medical up to adoption to include vaccines, spay, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY.
