Powerline is a ridiculously handsome, sweet-natured guy who has already lived more life than most cats his age and somehow came out the other side still trusting, affectionate, and ready to love hard.
He came to us from a shelter partner in Colorado after surviving a dog attack that left him with a traumatic brain injury and permanent deafness. Because of that injury, Powerline has a charming little wobble to his walk and does best in a home without very tall climbing surfaces (think under 6 feet). He gets around just fine, he just needs adventures a little closer to the ground for safety.
Being deaf also means Powerline can’t hear himself… so when he’s adjusting to a new environment, he may sing the song of his people at full volume. It’s not constant and it does fade as he settles in, but it’s part of his quirky charm and something his future family should be ready to roll with.
Powerline is a social guy who gains confidence from animal friends. He must be adopted with a feline buddy or into a home with a confident, welcoming resident cat. Interestingly, despite his past, he still seems to adore dogs. His foster may consider placement with an extremely cat-friendly dog in lieu of a resident cat, as Powerline appears to find comfort in canine companionship too.
At home, Powerline is all about love. He enjoys being snuggled, will happily follow his favorite human from room to room, and thrives with patient people who are willing to give him time and grace as he settles into a new space. Once he feels safe, his affectionate, loyal personality really shines.
Powerline is a resilient, loving cat with a few special considerations and a whole lot of heart. If you’re looking for a devoted companion and believe that the best bonds are built with patience and compassion, Powerline might just be your guy. 💛
