My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone! I’m Courtney! I’m a spunky, hilarious and adventurous little girl!

I LOVE TO PLAY! Fetch? Yes. Wrestling with dog friends? Yes. Chasing kids around? Yes. Squeaky toys by myself? Yes. I love to run, in the yard or on leash. I will need a little bit more training not to pull because running is so fun. I also like to announce the presence of other fur friends when I’m out walking. But I’m friendly, and don’t bark a lot otherwise.

Food is awesome, I love food. And treats. And ice cubes. I’m crate trained, potty trained, and love a good snuggle and nap after I get my energy out. Meeting new people is also fun. I’m working very hard to sit and not jump up to give hugs.

I came up to Minnesota from Alabama in September at 10 weeks old. I was a “single” puppy - no mom or litter mates. Everyone fell in love with me because they say I’m so gosh darn cute. The people who loved me up at transport noticed I had one eye that had some issues. Long story short, I had surgery, I can kind of see out of it but it’s not perfect, and it doesn’t slow me down one bit. I get one eye drop a day and I’m good to go.

I’m looking for my forever people, who can match my energy and include me in all the fun they’re having. I don’t need a dog sibling or a fence but I sure would love both! Are we are match? Let’s meet and find out!

All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
