My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Connie has been in the shelter system since she was 5 weeks old. All her siblings were adopted, leaving her behind. Equal parts sass and sweetness, this little diva has perfected the art of dramatic tail flicks and selective cuddles. Don’t let her fiery attitude fool you, though—underneath the sass is a loyal heart and a love for snacks, naps, and the occasional lap (on her terms, of course). Once she warms up to you, Connie will be obsessed with you. She takes patience, but she's so worth it!

More about this rescue

A Little Story
Lear's Legacy Cat Rescue was founded in 2024 by University of Houston alumni to honor the memory of Lear, a beloved cat who lived on campus with his partner, Momma. Together, they became a source of comfort and joy for students, offering a peaceful place to unwind after exams or simply enjoy some quiet moments of connection. Lear’s gentle spirit and Momma’s loving presence helped form a unique community of students who cherished the opportunity to spend time with them.

When Lear passed away unexpectedly, his impact on those who knew him became the inspiration for Lear's Legacy.

Our mission is to carry on his love and compassion through dedicated cat rescue, rehabilitation, and colony management. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we work to reduce the homeless cat population in our community by offering care, resources, and education, while honoring the bond Lear and Momma shared with so many. Through our efforts, we aim to create a lasting legacy of kindness and care for all cats in need.
