This litter of six pups was found as strays in Alabama, born beneath an abandoned house with nowhere safe to go. While every effort was made to bring their mom to safety as well, she was too frightened to be caught and ran when rescuers tried to approach. We are still actively trying to help her and hope to bring her to safety soon.
With temperatures dropping into the 20s, there was no time to wait. Leaving these babies exposed to the cold was not an option, so they were rushed to safety before they could freeze. Sadly, situations like this are all too common in Alabama, where so many dogs are left without a place to call home.
Now safe at Big Dog Ranch, these pups are warm, well-fed, and receiving the medical care they need. They finally have a cozy place to sleep and the chance to just be puppies.
In time, as they continue to grow stronger, this sweet litter will be ready for adoption and to start the next chapter of their lives with loving families of their own. Their journey began in the cold, but their future is full of hope. 🐾💙
