My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shy, a sweet and gentle kitten with a big heart!
Despite her tough start outside- being captured during a cold snap, she is a total softie who melts into your arms while being pet and has a very loud purr!
Shy does have a lot of character- missing half of one ear and a bob tail due to severe frostbite, but it only adds to her charm!
Shy enjoys spending time with other feline friends, and loves to play with toys! She is still unsure about dogs, as she is slightly afraid of loud noises and fast movement that sends her scoping for cover, but she is getting braver each day!
When she is comfortable, she turns into a playful kitten, swatting toys and having the best time! Shy will require some patience and time from her adopters, and will need her own room to help her get comfortable with her surroundings for the first little while. With time and love, she is going to flourish into a wonderful feline companion. If you are looking for a calmer, quiet and reserved feline who just wants to snuggle on the couch, Shy is your girl!

*General Adoption Information: If you are interested in adopting an animal from our shelter, you will need to come to Fort St. John to visit the animal and process the adoption here. Due to our remote location we cannot arrange for animals to be transferred to a shelter closer to you by request.

Please note that in many of our provincial shelters renters are required to bring in copies of their strata council by-laws in order to be approved for adopting.

Please contact us at the shelter for any adoption requirements before visiting us to adopt so that you are correctly prepared to take your new family member home.
