My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Piper is a gorgeous 8 year old, 13 pound girl who is looking for her forever home.

Piper would like a family with people who are home with her most of the time. She is looking for a home where she can sleep in the big bed and snuggle up with her forever family. She does well on car rides.

Gorgeous Piper is a sensitive girl who needs loving words. She is not good with children and needs a home without children under the age of 14 years. Piper is good with other dogs but she has not been cat tested. Piper is doing very well in her foster home in Ohio where she lives with several other dachshunds.

Piper walks nicely on a leash, and she is house and crate trained. Like all dachshunds she requires a regular schedule. All rescue dogs go through a period of adjustment, so understanding and patience is important. Piper does have some separation anxiety, and she will be cranky if another dog tries to get near her food. She can be possessive of her person and may growl at perceived threats.

This beauty is ready for her happily ever after. Are you the lucky one to welcome her home?
