My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Timmy Turner came to us as part of a large group of rabbits and is now ready to find a home of his own. He is young, active and ready to explore everything.

He has been in foster with a 10 year old kid and absolutely loves interacting with her. He also shares his foster home with a dog and cat and seems curious but unphased by them.

While not fully litterbox trained, he is consistent and keeps everything to one corner of his cage.

Here's what his foster mom has to say about this crazy little boy:
Timmy is a curious, active bunny who wants to be right in the middle of whatever is going on. Give him some time outside his pen and he’s off— running, exploring, and investigating every nook and cranny of his space like a tiny adventurer on a mission.

When he’s not out exploring, Timmy keeps his clever mind busy with foraging baskets and is an absolute expert at locating hidden treats.

Timmy enjoys being petted and truly likes having people around. He’s happiest when he can hang out with you, offering moral support and a bit of “help” while you go about your chores. He’s also a big fan of his greens and never says no to a fresh salad.

Timmy also knows how to relax—stretching out comfortably in a sunny spot and soaking up the warmth

His adoption fee has been reduced to $50, and include veterinary exam and spay/neuter.

As most of our small animals are in fostercare, if you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about this pet, the best way to start the process is to call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us at springfield@dakinhumane.org. If you already have a cage, please send a picture of your cage when you inquire.

We’ve made a video about how to set up rabbits for success! Check it out, above with the photos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoqIZchn2-g&t=1s {attach this link to the video part of the animals account}

Check out below for cage requirements and other information about Rabbits:

Rabbits typically live 8-10 years.

Housing requirements: Most housing sold at pet stores is too small for small pets. They are going to be spending most of their lives inside their cage; your housing must be as large as the below or larger (bigger is always better!) in order to adopt this pet.
-For rabbits we recommend x-pens/C&C type caging. Expect to spend around $100 on housing.
-Minimum requirements for enclosed spaces is 10 sq. ft. for 1-2 rabbits.
-No wire floors please - they are bad for bunnies’ feet
- Check in with Dakin to see if there are any available housing options in their Thrift Shop!

Rabbits are a social species, meaning they usually enjoy the company of their own kind. If there are two names listed together (eg Peanut Butter w/Jelly), that means that the two animals are a bonded pair of friends, and must be adopted together.

-Got a single at home you’re looking for a friend for? Any animal listed alone on our website is a single and a great candidate
-A new friend will need a separate cage until friendship has been established
-Our rabbits are all spayed/neutered at 4 months of age; as long as one or both rabbits are neutered, mixing genders is okay.
-It takes time and patience to let the rabbits make friends with each other.
