Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Stoney is a 3-year-old pit mix with a truly show-stopping look — a gorgeous merle coat and one striking blue eye that you won’t forget. He came to us from Dane County Animal Services after his previous owner could no longer provide the care he needed. Without access to a vehicle, routine veterinary care became difficult, and Stoney deserves better than circumstances beyond anyone’s control.
Since arriving with us, Stoney has been doing great. He does have a history of ear infections, but with proper care and consistency, he’s been feeling much more comfortable and is thriving. He’s a medium-energy guy, making him a wonderful balance of playful and relaxed — happy to enjoy activities with his people and then settle in for some quality cuddle time.
We’re told Stoney previously lived with children and did well, though we do not have confirmed history with cats or other dogs. As always, any introductions should be thoughtful and guided to set everyone up for success.
Stoney is ready for a loving, committed family who will continue his care and give him the stability he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and unforgettable looks, Stoney might just be your perfect match. 🐾
All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at https://www.sftsrescue.org/adoptable-dogs
