Dog Test: (Okay with Dogs) Mo-Mo has not met a dog to the shelter staff`s knowledge, but may do okay with a lower energy dog that has been around cats.
Cat Test: (Good with Cats) Mo-Mo has lived in a home with another cat and seems to mind having the company.
Kid Test: (Good with Kids) Mo-Mo would be good with kids of all ages!
Litter Box Trained: (Uses Litter Box) Mo-Mo is litterbox trained.
Energy Level: (Low-Medium) Meet Mo-Mo, a laid-back 7-year-old guy who has truly mastered the art of relaxation. Mo-Mo is a proud couch potato, happiest when he’s stretched out on a comfy spot, enjoying a long nap or just hanging out near his favorite people. When he’s not lounging, you’ll often find him posted up at a window, quietly watching the world go by like it’s his favorite TV channel. Calm and content, Mo-Mo is the perfect companion for anyone who appreciates a mellow cat who enjoys the simple pleasures of cozy days and peaceful views.

Our shelter is open 7 days a week. (Excluding holidays).
Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Saturday- Sunday 10am-2pm
We ask that you come visit any time between open and no later than 30 minutes prior to closing. This ensures that staff will have enough time to assist you in meeting one of our great furry friends!

More about this shelter
We are a Municipal Animal Shelter for the City of Lee's Summit. We house animals brought in by Lee's Summit Animal Control Officers and Blue Springs Animal Control Officers.
Animals are also brought to us by owners that can no longer keep the animal or by strays that were impounded for running loose.
When an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for 5 days to give the owner a chance to claim it. If the owner does not claim it, on the 6th day it is put up for adoption or foster. During this 5 day holding period, if a potential adopter would like to adopt the animal, they are welcome to sign up on the adoption list. The names on the adoption list are contacted on the 6th day if no owner has made claim.
If there are no names on the adoption list, then the animal will become first come, first served when available for adoption.
