Meet Leo 🐾

Leo is a handsome 1-year-old neutered male mixed breed weighing around 70 lbs, and he’s ready for a fresh start. He came to us as an owner surrender due to landlord issues—through no fault of his own. His family loved him dearly and made the difficult decision to find him a new home when they were no longer able to keep him.

Leo previously lived with another dog and children and was described as friendly, playful, and full of life. He enjoys the simple joys: relaxing baths, hopping in the car for a ride, long walks, and plenty of playtime. He’s a fun, active guy who loves being included in whatever you’re doing.

This sweet boy is very treat-motivated and eager to learn, making him a great candidate for positive reinforcement training. A fenced-in backyard would be a bonus so Leo can safely burn off some energy, but it’s not required—he’d be just as happy with regular walks, enrichment, and quality time with his people.

This may be done where the pet is located, please read Story it will list location or applications are on our website.

Owned a pet in the past, please list veterinarian pet went to.

Approved applicants will be asked to come to the shelter to meet the dog. (Cats/kittens are at other locations to visit)

Interested in a dog? Please fill out an application at our website, please list dogs name on application or if you don't see one, please list breed/gender you are looking for. (We can place you on a wish list) Once approved we will watch for a dog for you. When we get in animal that might be what you are looking for we will contact you to set up an appointment to meet the pet.

$60 Adoption fee for cats. $100 for kittens. $150 Adoption fee for dogs. $250 for puppies. All potential adopters must complete our Adoption Application.

** Most cats/kittens are located at PetSmart in Utica or PetSmart in Bloomfield Hills, unless noted **

Go meet their pets

Our adoptable cats are located at a PetSmart in Utica, PetSmart in Bloomfield Hills. You can visit them at the stores when they are open.

For Dogs we are asking people to fill out an application online to get approved. Applications can be found here: https://macsshelter.org/dog-application. We will schedule a meet and greet of the dog after application approval.

We do take our dogs to different pet stores in the Metro Detroit area on Saturday's. You can visit our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/macs1935) to see where our next dog adoption event will be located. These events start at 11 AM - 2:30 PM.
