My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Annie – a resilient, soulful 1.5-year-old German Shepherd who has already lived a lifetime of hardship in her short life.
Found tied to a tree and cruelly abandoned after being used for breeding, sweet Annie weighing a tiny 35 pounds – confused and searching for the puppies that were taken from her. She was brought to a high-kill shelter where she quickly came down with a severe upper respiratory infection and was placed on the euthanasia list.
That’s when we stepped in. We rushed her straight to the vet, and after weeks of dedicated medical care, good food, and gentle love, Annie made a full recovery. Today she’s a healthy, glowing beauty with the softest black-and-tan coat, bright, hopeful eyes, and the sweetest gentle spirit you’ll ever meet.
Annie is playful, silly, when she feels safe – she’ll do the funniest little zoomies and “helicopter tail” when she’s happy. She knows basic commands, takes treats like a perfect lady (so gentle!), and is fully house-trained and spayed. She absolutely lights up on hikes and adventures, but she’s just as content snuggling on the couch or curling up at the foot of your bed – she was born to be someone’s loyal shadow.
Annie would thrive most with a calm, patient home that can give her the quiet, loving environment she deserves. She’s wonderful with other dogs she loves playmates!, but she’s not a fan of cats. At just 16 months old, she’s still a baby – a tiny, polite soul who’s understandably cautious at first because the world has already hurt her once. With time and kindness, she blooms into the goofiest, most devoted companion you could ask for.
Annie is ready for her real forever home – the one where she’ll never be abandoned or used again. Could that home be with you? This beautiful girl is waiting to love and be loved with her whole heart. ?

Additional adoption info

Our Adoption Process
We're thrilled you're considering adopting from us! Bringing a new pet into your home is an exciting journey, and we're here to make it as smooth and joyful as possible. Our process is designed to ensure the best match for both you and your future companion, prioritizing their happiness and well-being.
Step 1: Browse and Find Your Match
Start by exploring our available pets online or visiting our shelter in person. Take your time to read their profiles, view photos, and learn about their personalities, needs, and backgrounds. If something catches your eye, note their name or ID—we update listings regularly!
Step 2: Visit and Interact
Come meet the pets you're interested in during our open hours. Spend time playing, cuddling, or walking to see if it's a great fit. We encourage bringing family members (including kids) and any current pets for introductions, especially dogs, to help ensure everyone gets along.
Step 3: Adoption Counseling
Chat with one of our friendly adoption counselors. We'll discuss the pet's medical history, behavior insights, and any special needs. This is your chance to ask questions, share details about your home and lifestyle, and get tips on training, care, and settling in.
Step 4: Complete the Application
Fill out a simple adoption application (available on-site or online in advance). We'll review it quickly, often the same day. Be ready with ID, proof of address, and any landlord approval if you're renting.
Step 5: Finalize and Take Home
Once approved, pay the adoption fee (which covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and more), sign the agreement, and welcome your new family member home—usually the very same day!
Adoptions are first-come, first-served, and we don't place holds, so visit soon if you've found "the one." If things don't work out, we're here with support and a return policy.
Ready to start? Check our adoptable pets today—we can't wait to help you find your perfect companion!

More about this rescue

At our rescue, we are deeply committed to saving lives by pulling animals from overcrowded public shelters, where limited space and resources often lead to heartbreaking euthanasia for healthy, adoptable pets. By transferring these deserving dogs and cats into our foster-based care, we provide them with the individualized attention, medical treatment, and rehabilitation they need to thrive—far beyond what many shelters can offer due to capacity constraints. This vital work not only gives each animal a second chance at a loving forever home through our careful adoption process but also frees up critical space in shelters, allowing them to save even more lives. Choosing to rescue from shelters means combating pet overpopulation at its source, reducing unnecessary euthanasia, and ensuring every animal we place is matched with a family where they can flourish.
