This helps Above & Beyond English Setter Rescue with pet care costs.
Socialization/training: Midge is very friendly and quiet. She has great manners. She knows sit and walks great on leash.
Crate trained: Yes, she is fine in a crate when needed.
Leash trained: Midge walks nicely on the leash but she will pull occasionally.
Activity Level: Midge can be described as a calm and quiet little girl. She is extremely sweet! As a setter, her energy level is more on the low to mild energy level side.
Fence: A home with a fenced yard would be best for Midge, please. She has not shown any signs of wanting to jump a fence or dig out, so a standard height fence would be fine for her.
Behavior: Midge loves to cuddle and give kisses. She is very quiet and so super sweet!! She loves her people and wants to be with them but is content with a toy or in her crate if need be. She has not played with my other dogs but likes being around them and enjoys their companionship.
Medical History: Midge came into rescue with a large mammary tumor. The vet found another small one so the whole right mammary chain was surgically removed and sent to lab for biopsy. The results came back a low grade malignancy. With this type of low grade malignancy tumor, it does not metastasis to other organs but can reoccur on the surgical line or the other mammary glands that were not removed. As a result, her adopter will need a vet that will pay attention. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her vaccinations and she is on monthly heartworm prevention.
Foster Comments: Midge is my type of girl and will be hard to let go! She is just perfect in every way! She is going to make someone a sweet companion.
Foster Location: Perry, Georgia
Volunteer transport can be arranged in the Continental US within a 1,000-mile distance between adopters & foster home. If interstate transport is provided for your adopted dog, there will be an additional charge of $75.00 for the required Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI). Typically, we are able to transport your adopted dog to within 2 hours of your home. *Dogs can be adopted outside the 1000-mile transport distance; however, adopters must be willing to either fly their adopted dog, drive to a location within the 1000-mile transport range, or make independent transport arrangements for their adopted dog. Transports to far Western states, from Eastern states, may have additional restrictions.
