My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Marmalade is a friendly adult female cat who needs to be kept on her own or with dogs.  She likes smaller dogs but is a little watchful around big ones.  Poor Marmalade is grieving - her beloved owner/mother died recently and she is missing her greatly and she'd love to be back in a loving home again.  She is a great cuddler and will expect to sleep with you.  If you get up to walk away she'll reach out and grab your arm and say, "no, stay and cuddle some more!".

All Ayla's cats must be indoor only and declawing is not allowed.   A home visit is required and there is a small adoption fee.  If you are interested in adopting this pretty lady, please go to Aylasacres.org and submit an adoption application.

Additional adoption info

We don't have a facility, so we screen applicants thoroughly before we set up a meet and greet. We conduct a vet check, reference check and a home check. We typical set up the meet at the adoptive home so the home check can be completed at the same time. If both parties agree the pup is a good fit we complete the adoption agreement and accept the adoption fee.

More about this rescue

We are tackling the problem one animal at a time. Ayla’s Acres No-Kill Animal Rescue is a St. Augustine, Florida-based 501(c)(3) supporting adoption, spay and neuter, and responsible care of animals. Along with education, outreach, and adoption and fostering programs, Ayla’s Acres also maintains a 45-acre sanctuary where “unadoptable” animals may live out their lives with peace, love, and dignity.
