Our adoption process starts with an application for meet and greets and adoption consideration. Applicants complete phone interviews, background checks, provide vet and personal references, and finish with a virtual home visit to ensure a good fit.
Adoption steps

- To start your adoption process, please complete our online application.
- Interview
- A volunteer will contact you by email or phone to discuss your application and whether a specific pet is a good fit for your home.
- Home Check
- Home visits are done virtually using a video app or FaceTime.
- Meet the Pet
- Local adopters can arrange in-person meet and greets, while out-of-state adopters can meet virtually via FaceTime.
- Sign Adoption Contract
- Once approved, your adoption contract and payment link will be sent to you electronically.
- Take the Pet Home
- For our out of state adopters, transport will be arranged once adopted.
