My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mattie!

If you're looking for a super sweet older girl, here's your chance 💜

Mattie is a nine year old lab/beagle mix weighing about 36lbs. She's smaller than you think, like a petite little princess, and she's super friendly and tends to be very easygoing and social with people.

This sweet lady is good on a leash but can be prone to typical old lady stubbornness when she reeeeeeally wants to investigate something or if you're rushing her while she's smelling bunny tracks or flowers or something. She'll plant every ounce of that 36lbs, dig her paws in, and won't budge. Other than that, she's happy to amble along next to you and go for a jaunty, brisk little stroll. She hasn't shown much interest in toys (fair) other than liking the sound of the squeaker.

Mattie has a VERY healthy amount of respect for angry felines and will avoid, avoid, avoid. Or pancake. Basically, she knows that they have pointy bits and she's not interested in meeting the business end of those pointy bits. She would do fine with dog-friendly cats that won't terrorize her. As far as dogs go, she has no patience for high energy, bouncy puppies and much prefers calmer, more mature dogs that know their manners and will respect her boundaries.

She loves attention and wants to meet everyone that she sees. She loooooves back scratches and will full body lean into them. She loves being outside regardless of the weather. She loves walks, loves food, and loves love!
