My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Starlight is a 3 month old, female Domestic Short Hair kitten with bright eyes and a spark of curiosity that shows more every day. Her beginning was rough. She was found with her siblings trapped under a deck on a bitterlycold night right before a storm rolled in.
Taming took time, but Starlight has blossomed beautifully with patient handling. She now enjoys gentle interaction and is learning how wonderful people can be. New situations can still feel big for her, yet she recovers quickly with reassurance.
Starlight will do best in an adult only, cat experienced home. A small introductory space will help her transition safely. With understanding humans, she will grow into a loving, loyal cat who never forgets the people who believed in her.

More about this rescue

We are a volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill shelter.
Visit our website at HeartofRI.org for an in depth view of our policies, procedures, fees, and exactly what they include.

Unfortunately, due to past issues with landlords/housing/insurance, a restricted breed policy is in place for Bully breed/Pit Bull type dogs. This means that you must own your home and provide proof of homeownership to adopt a Bully breed/Pit Bull dog or puppy. While we understand that this may be an inconvenience, it is necessary to help reduce the number of devastated dogs being returned.  We apologize for the inconvenience.
