Are you looking to add a very special cat to your life? Then meet GameCube. He's a certified weirdo. He's not like other cats. He has about 2 braincells and one of them is on vacation. He loves people, he loves food, he loves to be pet, and he loves being the center of attention. And with his mild case of cerebellar hypoplasia (wobbly cat), you can't ignore him. He eats food like it's his first day on Earth, and he moves his body like he's an alien in a very convincing cat suit. Sometimes he just wobbles his head because it's fun. He's also deaf, so he likes to meow LOUD. And his purrs? If you can't afford a luxury sports car, don't worry, GameCube has you covered with his 1000 decibel purrs. He came from a hoarding house and didn't get proper socialization, so he's still learning how to express his big feelings. He gets overstimulated, so he'll need a keen eye to notice when it's time to call timeout and let him calm down. He's also not the biggest fan of other cats, and would do best as the only cat in a cat savvy household.
It's genuinely hard to explain just how incredible this cat is. GameCube is one of the goofiest and strangest little men you will ever encounter. You really just have to come and meet him to understand. You will not regret it one bit.

Adopters can stop in during open hours to find their new pet! There may be different criteria based on the individual animal.
2.
Submit Application
Our application is more of a survey in person. We find out more about your home and lifestyle to make sure the adoption will be fur-ever.
3.
Meet the Pet
We will provide you with all the information on the pet and then set you up with a space to interact with your potential new best friend.
4.
Sign Adoption Contract
Super easy and can be done through your phone!
5.
Pay Fee
Yep! Fees vary based on age and species.
6.
Take the Pet Home
So long as the pet is already spayed/neutered, they can go home the same day as adoption. Congratulations!
Additional adoption info
We invite you to visit the shelter locations and meet the animals and the adoption team!
Our adoption process is aimed at matching you, your family and your current pets with our animals for adoption. An adoption counselor will introduce you to our animals in a private meeting room. We will share information about the animal's medical and behavioral needs as well as their history.
When you find the right pet for you and your family, the adoption counselor will assist you in completing the proper paperwork. This process includes signing an adoption contract, reviewing medical history and providing proper pet care information.
What you will need in order to adopt:
A valid photo ID with your current address.
We recommend all members of the household meeting the animal before adopting.
If you are interested in adopting a dog and have other dog(s) living in your household, it is recommended that all dogs meet each other at the shelter.
Certain animals require additional steps or requirements.
Adoption fee is accepted in cash or credit/debit card. Checks, American Express, Discover, Care Credit are not accepted as payment.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not able to place a hold or accept a deposit for animals that are not available for adoption, that you have not done a formal meet and greet with, or over the phone. Adoptions are approved for the first qualified home. Adoption is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.
