My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, Im Bellaand Im here to change your mind about Chihuahuas! Despite the rumors, I havent barked even once.

Im a sweet, loving girl who adores following my foster family around. Im crate trained (even if its not my favorite place) and will happily bounce around to get your attentionbut still, no barking! I love spending time outside with my people and staying close by. My foster sister tries to play with me, and while Im still figuring out what playtime means, Im learning and warming up to it. Ive also learned that food reliably appears in my bowl every day, so theres no need to steal anymoreand treats? Yes please! Ive started enjoying those too.

My absolute favorite thing in the world is a good head and back rub. If you stop too soon, Ill give you a little side-eye and maybe a tiny yelp of protest but again, no barking.

Bellas ideal home:

- A family with time to give her attention

- Backyard time with her people

- Quiet, cozy time indoors for lots of pets

- Another small dog would be just fineshe gets along well with her foster sister

If youre looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who loves being near her people, Bella might be your perfect match

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is three-fold: submit an application, meet the pet, then arrange for us to do your in-home interview.
Adoption Fees:
Kittens: $60, Cats (1 year plus): $50, Puppies: $250, Adult Canines (1 to 6 years): $200, Seniors (7 years plus): $100 (unless otherwise specified). Adoption fees are not a tax-deductible donation as allowed by IRS regulations. Adoption fees help to offset the cost of the pet's care incurred by Coastal Pet Rescue, which are generally 2 to 3 times the adoption fee amount.
Some special circumstances may change the fee; see pet's listing for actual adoption fee.

All Coastal Pet Rescue pets are current on shots, microchipped* and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters are responsible for any shots that may be due after adoption (particularly for kittens and puppies that must have three rounds of shots to be protected).

Microchip:
CPR has implanted a microchip as part of the adoption process and the chip is included in the adoption fee. However, some chip companies require a registration fee varying from $9.99 to $19.99. The registration fees are the responsibility of the adopter and are NOT included in the CPR adoption fee. Adopters may add this cost to their adoption fee to have CPR register the chip on their behalf.

Most of our pets all live in our homes, so adoption applications must be submitted for appointments to be made to see the pets. We also have them with us at our outdoor events, so view our "events" calendar on our website for those dates and locations.
