My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Miyagi – A Gentle Giant Ready for His Next Chapter Miyagi is a striking 7-year-old German Shepherd weighing about 95 pounds, and he's ready to trade in his stray days for the comfort of a forever home. He was found on Hennich Lane in Rockwall County on January 3, 2026 with no collar and no microchip. After completing his stray hold with no owner coming forward, this handsome boy is now officially available for adoption. Miyagi is a sweet, thoughtful soul who can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but give him a little time, a calm voice, and a few tasty treats, and he'll show you just how gentle and loving he truly is. He takes treats politely, knows how to sit, and walks nicely on a leash. He's very food-motivated, which makes him a great candidate for continued positive training and bonding. Like many German Shepherds, Miyagi is currently being treated for a skin condition related to allergies and is responding well to medication. If he goes home before treatment is complete, his adopters will receive his remaining antibiotic and antifungal medications along with clear instructions so his care can continue smoothly. He also has some stiffness in his hips, likely age-related, and does well with a daily anti-inflammatory to keep him comfortable and mobile for walks, exploring, and enjoying time with his people. Miyagi is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. Because we don't know his full history with other dogs, a meet and greet will be required for any home that already has a canine companion to ensure everyone is a good match. His adoption fee is $125. Miyagi is ready to leave the uncertainty of the past behind and start a new life filled with stability, love, and gentle companionship. If you're looking for a loyal, calm, and dignified best friend, Miyagi may be the perfect addition to your family.
