ON HOLD - NO NEW APPLICATIONS BEING TAKEN AT THIS TIME
Posted : January 2026
Betsy is a 4 yr old corgi and weighs 34 lbs, she is working on slimming down her curvacious figure ; 0 )
Betsy can be quite the cuddle buddy and can also be a bit of a couch potato - she is accustomed to pet parents who work from home but she has been doing well with a foster family who works during the day; she enjoys having canine buddies to keep her company and can be left alone with them for short periods. She does not love the crate and can be trusted in a puppy-proofed setting. Betsy would do well with a retired couple or another situation where someone is home often.
Betsy met a cat and did not even want to look at the potential feline friend, even when it hissed and swatted. We think she would learn to tolerate life with a cat who coexisted ok.
Betsy is a good little walker and likes to use her harness. Her foster mom says she comes when called when she sees fit ; 0 ) She loves people and other dogs. Betsy likes to give kisses and is a loyal lover-girl! She was living with a senior citizen and was very gentle and did not get under her feet. She rides well in the car and doesn't mind adventures like the vet. She is a sweet-natured girl!
Sweet Betsy has a fear of thunderstorms and was living in a southern area that had nearly daily storms; her family was so sad to give her up but they didn't feel it was fair that she have to be medicated daily. She has adapted to the snowy cold weather in Maine and is ready to find her FUR-ever family.
If interested in meeting Betsy or any of our sweeties, please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout Maine. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
