When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped!
What we know: Transferred from Humane Society of Pikes Peak Region approx 1-2 weeks old; listed as found as stray, eight in the litter, two girls and six boys. No info on parents at all.
From the foster: Dipper is a big puppy with a big heart. His favorite place to be is wherever you are (unless he gets tired and puts himself to bed). He will be a loyal and lovable companion in his new home. He’s a clever fella, and sits for treats (which he takes politely) and comes when called with a tongue click. He’s food motivated, and will probably be trained easily. He’s been pretty good sleeping through the night in our laundry room with his sister, but I imagine he might miss her quite a bit at first.
This pup has been great with our 2 resident dogs (55 and 80 pounds), and two teenage children (and their friends). So far, he hasn’t met a dog or person he didn’t love. He does sometimes like to play rough, and with his size, sharp puppy teeth and claws, he might inadvertently cause some scratches. He’ll need some training on manners for that.
We’ve been working on potty training - and, given enough opportunity so spend time outside, Dipper is pretty good about doing his #2s there. He needs work figuring out that #1s also belong outside! We have been using dog bells for him to indicate that he needs to go outside - and he has learned to use them. Sometimes when he just wants to check out the great outdoors.
